Overview

Born in Madrid, Antonio Ballester Moreno takes part in this exhibition organised by the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M) in Móstoles, in which the centre invites the artist to offer an interpretation of its collections and the Fundación ARCO. The exhibition seeks to connect the exterior with the interior, exploring how landscape has always been understood as a construction that goes beyond the aesthetic, encompassing geological, anthropological and social dimensions. This exhibition can be visited from 11 April to 10 January.

This exhibition project establishes a dialogue between Ballester Moreno's work, created in collaboration with various families and pupils from CEIP Federico García Lorca in Móstoles, and 29 works by other artists from the Colección del Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo. The result is a scene that combines amateur productions made from humble materials, such as cardboard, with works by established artists. This landscape invites the visitor to stroll through a space where high and low, heaven and earth, day and night merge, creating a visual and conceptual experience that challenges museographical conventions.

The exhibition invites us to think that we are all creative and that the purpose of creation is to improve the experience itself, because coming together is always enriching and satisfying.

Antonio Ballester Moreno understands art as an educational gesture rather than an expression. Drawing on folk wisdom, experiential learning and non-formal educational processes, his work questions the role of the cultural institution while conceiving it as a meeting place.
