Concert inaugural: on Thursday 8 October 2026 at 19:00, at L'Auditori de Barcelona (08013 Barcelona).

Overview

Repertoire Johann Sebastian Bach: Violin Sonata No. 3, BWV 1005 (Satué) György Kurtág: József Attila Fragments, Op. 20 (1-4) Johann Sebastian Bach: Partita No. 3, BWV 1006 (Garcia) György Kurtág: József Attila Fragments, Nos. 7, 8, 10, 11 Johann Sebastian Bach: Suite No.

3, BWV 1009 (transcription for viola) (Fúnez) György Kurtág: József Attila Fragments, Nos. 15, 14, 19, 17, 20 Johann Sebastian Bach: Partita No.

2, BWV 1004 (Cordero) Artists Elionor Martínez, soprano (resident artist of L’Auditori) Patricia Cordero, violin Andrea Garcia, violin Helena Satué, violin Noemí Fúnez, viola Programme L’Auditori opens its chamber music season with a statement of intent: tradition and contemporaneity in a living dialogue.

The voice of Elionor Martínez, resident soprano, is woven into a string fabric that spans centuries to remind us that music is a continuous present, a shared breath and an essential emotion.

Bach’s suites and partitas, the perfect architecture of the Baroque, elevate dance into sonic meditation: balance, implicit polyphony and a style of writing that turns every line into discourse. Some works, such as Suite No.

3 BWV 1009, will be performed in a transcription for viola, sharing the solo spotlight with the other string players, who will take centre stage in Violin Sonata No. 3 BWV 1005, Partita No. 2 BWV 1004 and Partita No. 3 BWV 1006.

In contrast and complicity, these will alternate with the Attila József Fragments, Op. 20, by Kurtág, which concentrate gesture, refine sound and transform the word into an almost physical intensity.

From the clear, structural lines of the Leipzig cantor to the expressive density of the 20th century, the inaugural concert offers a journey of depth and risk, where past and present illuminate one another. György Kurtág Centenary.
