Concert Jazz Class "Kike Angulo Trio"

Next Thursday 8 October, El Centre Gràcia hosts Kike Angulo Trio, an ensemble that places the guitar at the heart of a journey through the history of jazz.

Born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), Kike Angulo grew up in a land where the guitar is one of the most deeply rooted and characteristic instruments.

Attracted from a very young age to jazz and this instrument, he trained in Barcelona, the United States and the Netherlands, and over the years has become one of the most sought-after guitarists on the Catalan jazz scene.

Accompanied by double bassist Garry Fimister and drummer Xavi Hinojosa, Angulo presents a repertoire that travels through the great idioms of jazz, with a special focus on swing, bebop and blues within the universe of mainstream jazz.

Three renowned musicians who share the same way of understanding jazz: creativity, authenticity and respect for tradition, yet with the freedom and spontaneity that make every concert a unique experience.

An evening of capital-J jazz, with the guitar as the protagonist and three musicians ready to make us enjoy live jazz.
