Escaparate de Arquitecturas. HORMIGÓN CONCRETO: Diseño experimental de lámparas en hormigón

The COAM display windows are showing, from 10 July to 13 October, the production during the spring term by fourth-year students in the Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM).

The workshop challenged each student to propose their own idea for a lighting device in concrete, with special reference to projects developed from contemporary art. Learning through art focused on the material and disciplinary issues of architecture through design, execution and communication, constructing a learning space in which to explore unconventional solutions and put them into practice. Each resulting piece transcends its own functionality and is also inspiring for architectures, sculptures, installations, objects…
