Madrid en el siglo de oro. Crisol de destinos y desembarco de genios

The Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando hosts exhibitions and cultural activities in Madrid. This exhibition offers a journey through the capital's heritage across different rooms displaying pictorial works and period objects linked to the period when the city functioned as the political centre of a global empire.

The display proposes an approach to Madrid's daily life following the transfer of the court by Philip II, a time characterised by the arrival of creators, thinkers and men of science. The exhibited pieces illustrate the coexistence between monarchs, writers and artists who influenced the cultural development of those centuries.

The visit is aimed at those wishing to delve into Madrid's urban and artistic history through the analysis of the exhibited collections. The itinerary allows visitors to observe material elements that reflect the weight of that era in the shaping of the city.
