Pedro Moreno. Pro domo sua. Arte teatral y cinematográfico

From 23 July 2026 to 10 January 2027, the National Library is hosting the exhibition Pedro Moreno. Pro domo sua. Arte teatral y cinematográfico, a comprehensive retrospective dedicated to one of the great creators of Spanish stage design.

The exhibition offers a narrative journey through the life and artistic career of Pedro Moreno, National Theatre Award winner and recipient of various Max and Goya Awards for his work in theatre and film. The itinerary covers everything from his beginnings in haute couture during the sixties, under the influence of Elio Berhanyer, to his consolidation as a costume and set designer for theatre, dance and cinema.

Through his sketches, designs, original pieces and documentary materials, the exhibition allows visitors to discover both the breadth of his artistic output and the creative processes that have defined his distinctive visual universe. The tour is structured around various milestones that help to understand his aesthetic conception and his way of "telling stories" through costume and the stage.

Furthermore, the exhibition incorporates testimonies from prominent figures on the Spanish cultural scene such as José Carlos Plaza, Ana Belén, Víctor Ullate and Emma Suárez, who share their perspective on Moreno's work and artistic personality.
