Radical Rehab. Arquitectura y Patrimonio en España (1975–2025)

La Casa de la Arquitectura (Arquería de Nuevos Ministerios) is hosting an exhibition from 23 April 2026 to 28 March 2027 that explores the decisive role of architecture in the revitalisation of our country's built heritage over the last five decades, through innovative interventions that go far beyond mere preservation and seek to provide added value.

The display is made up of a selection of 80 works created by male and female architects of different generations, across various locations throughout Spanish geography, featuring heterogeneous programmes and multiple scales. It includes cultural, educational, administrative and religious facilities, as well as urban spaces, natural environments and housing, both individual and collective.

From the reconversion of industrial areas in metropolitan contexts to the recovery of architecture in territories affected by depopulation, these projects bear witness to a collective determination to activate heritage across the entire national territory.

The projects are organised into eight lines of work —Vanguard, Identity, Community, City, Habiting, Technology, Energy and Landscape— whose mottos refer to values of direct relevance to society, linked to the contexts in which the works and their inhabitants are found.
