Un instante atrapado en bronce: patrimonio recuperado

The National Archaeological Museum presents an exhibition focused on two Roman bronze sculptural groups recovered following their looting.

This cultural proposal brings together in Madrid two exceptional pieces dated between the 1st century BCE and the 2nd century CE, originating from the south of the Iberian Peninsula. The works depict two small girls crawling while chasing partridges, an unusual theme that reflects the interest in everyday scenes developed during the Hellenistic period and continued in Rome. Visitors coming to the museum's rooms can observe this sculptural ensemble, which stands out for its excellent technical quality, its good state of preservation and the presence of its original bronze bases.

The exhibition tour also details the recovery process of cultural goods following their illicit extraction and subsequent departure from the country.
