Aquell Carrer

Based on a series of interviews and notes from historical documentation, Aquell carrer uncovers the personality of the Sa Torre neighbourhood in Manacor, which bore witness to the city's metamorphosis.

Misery, smuggling, sex, lives that form a jigsaw puzzle explaining the socioeconomic development of an outlying neighbourhood while shedding light on the thinking, morality and daily life of the turbulent 20th century.

Gomila states that "all these stories gave me the feeling that they exuded a sensitivity, a background of sincere affection for the neighbours, for the people who live alongside us, which today – when we no longer know, or pretend not to know, anything about our neighbours, today when we no longer greet each other, when we entrench ourselves in the safety of our homes – it was necessary to reclaim".
