Carlos Cartaxo. In-sítu

The Patio de Operaciones at CentroCentro welcomes a site-specific installation by the artist Carlos Cartaxo focused on the languages of contemporary abstraction.

This proposal is presented as a visual arts investigation in dialogue with the currents of new constructivisms and the concept of relief. Visitors step into an experimental field where painting, sculpture and architecture simultaneously converge, transforming the surroundings into an active agent that modifies the visual narrative through light and viewpoints.

The project is part of the Epicentro programme and takes the historical work of Kurt Schwitters as a reference to integrate architecture into the creative process. Through this journey, the space ceases to function as a neutral support and becomes an experiential laboratory designed for audiences interested in current trends in contemporary art and spatial exploration.

CentroCentro, located in Madrid, hosts this exhibition as part of its regular cultural programme dedicated to the visual arts. The visit offers a self-guided tour through the rooms to observe how the artwork alters the perception of the venue and establishes a direct dialogue with the building's architecture.
