Continentes como semillas

The cultural space La Casa Encendida hosts Continentes como semillas from 10 October 2026 to 10 January 2027, a group exhibition that explores how colonial histories continue to resonate within bodies and contemporary culture.

The exhibition brings together La Chola Poblete, Niño de Elche and Pedro G. Romero to map out new critical readings of processes of oppression and forms of resistance. Through sound, sculpture, drawing and performance, the artists open up spaces of friction where identities are transformed and challenged on both sides of the ocean.

On one hand, Niño de Elche and Pedro G. Romero delve into the transnational routes of flamenco and the Manila Galleon through the project Sadopítna, o sea, antípodas, puesto del revés y boca abajo (Sadopítna, meaning antipodes, turned inside out and upside down), confronting traditional Manila shawls with sound and references to the sculpture Voice. Meanwhile, La Chola Poblete focuses on the body as a space of insurgency, intersecting figures such as the Virgin and Pachamama with trans subjectivities and the current political landscape through parody in her drawings.
