Declan Welsh and The Decadent West

Scottish outfit Declan Welsh and The Decadent West arrive in Madrid to perform the songs from their third album live.

Hailing from Glasgow, the project led by Declan Welsh sits firmly within contemporary British indie rock and post-punk currents. Their repertoire combines sharp guitars with socially and politically charged compositions, a proposal developed across previous works such as Cheaply Bought, Expensively Sold and singles like Absurd or Inaction, while also incorporating influences of art-rock and synth-pop into their sonic evolution.

On stage, the band translates the energy of their studio recordings, including tracks from their new album entitled Explicit Agitation, produced alongside Chris Marshall at Castle of Doom Studios. The group's gigs capture the trajectory built through their appearances at various European festivals and venues, delivering a performance centred around guitar-driven sound and vocal delivery.

This date is aimed at audiences interested in the alternative strands of current rock and acts hailing from the British independent scene. Sala El Sol offers a format of close proximity between the musicians and attendees, well-suited to hosting this type of live repertoire within the capital's gig venue circuit.
