El secuestro

Written and directed by Fran Nortes, El secuestro is a hilarious comedy about the importance of family and the ongoing troubles between ordinary people and politicians. A production hosted at the Sala Cándido Lara of the Teatro Lara on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 October to 3 January.

Starring Carlos Chamarro, Leo Rivera, Diana Lázaro, Carlos Heredia, Oscar Lasarte and Javi Morán, the play features the character of Paco, who is experiencing a very real, almost everyday tragedy: he is fifty years old, has a mortgage, a young daughter and finds himself out on the street with no future. Because of this, Paco turns into a vigilante, in the purest style of actor Charles Bronson in his movies or Batman, but Paco is not Charles Bronson, nor is he Batman; Paco is just Paco… and at the end of the day you have no choice but to accept who we are and trust that everything will turn out fine.

This play offers an optimistic view of human beings in a very pessimistic environment, and it has already been performed with great success on stages around the world such as Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay, Panama, Peru, Poland and Italy.
