Gag Movie - Yllana

The prestigious company Yllana presents a physical comedy show that pays tribute to the seventh art through a hilarious film shoot. A show that can be seen at Teatro Serrano on 26 September, and 3, 10 and 16 October.

Under the direction of Joe O‘Curneen and performed by César Maroto, Rubén Hernández, Susana Cortés and Antonio de la Fuente, the piece plunges the spectator into the wacky filming of a movie, featuring an unhinged director, an arrogant diva, a mobster and stingy producer, and a leading actor who has been replaced at the last minute by the producer's nephew despite having no acting talent.

Through their misadventures, it offers a journey through the most emblematic moments in film history, whilst recalling some of the most famous characters of this art form, delighting the most passionate cinephiles.

Yllana is an artistic group founded in 1991 and specialised in physical theatre. Their works have become major pieces of Spanish silent comedy. Some of their most acclaimed include Splash!, 666, Olimplaff and Action Man, among others. Furthermore, their productions have been performed in 44 countries and seen by more than a million and a half spectators.

Throughout their career they have won numerous accolades such as the 2012 Max Award for Performing Arts for Best Musical Show for Avenue Q, the 2010 Max Award for Performing Arts for Best Children's Show for Zoo, and the Best Show Award at the 2008 Fringe Festival (Edinburgh, United Kingdom) for Pagagnini.
