Galas Circo Atayde

Circo Atayde, one of Mexico's great circus benchmarks, is celebrating its 138th anniversary with a historic milestone: for the first time, the family company is crossing the Atlantic to present its show in Europe from 9 to 18 October, from Wednesday to Sunday, at the Teatro Circo Price.

More specifically, the Mexican troupe is performing its traditional Galas with a live orchestra, a proposal that combines the heritage of classical circus with a contemporary staging. Under the musical direction of maestro Carlos Alberto Ramírez and the stage direction of Artús Chávez and Alfredo Atayde, this show promises to transport audiences to a universe of magic, acrobatics and humour. The production brings together high-flying acts, the presence of an endearing clown and various circus disciplines in a staging designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.

The legacy of the Atayde clan is currently in the hands of its fourth and fifth generations: Alfredo, Maritza, Andrés and Javier Atayde, who in recent years have taken over the leadership of the family company with the aim of preserving a tradition that has survived for over a century without giving up artistic evolution.

Their work has kept alive a circus heritage passed down from parents to children, combining respect for classic circus numbers and values with new ways of understanding the show. This continuity has turned Circo Atayde into one of the symbols of Mexican circus culture.
