Actresses and comediennes Anna Marchessi and Coria Castillo are performing a comedy show at the Teatro del Barrio on 10 and 17 October, questioning identity, language, normality and social correctness.

Anna Marchessi is an actress and scriptwriter born in Barcelona with cerebral palsy, caused by a lack of oxygen during birth. This condition never stopped her interest in artistic creation. She studied Audiovisual Communication at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with the initial intention of dedicating herself mainly to writing.

She has worked as a scriptwriter on series such as Amar es para siempre and Luimelia, and as an actress she gained visibility thanks to the series Fácil, an adaptation of the novel Lectura fácil by Cristina Morales. She has also taken part in the theatrical version of Lectura fácil directed by Alberto San Juan and in other stage productions linked to the Centro Dramático Nacional.

Castillo studied dramatic art and took courses in stand-up comedy and improvisation. She began her journey as a monologist in bars, competitions and theatres, and has been a three-time finalist for the Best Leading Actress award at the Community of Madrid Theatre Competition.

In 2012 she took part in the programme Open Mike on Paramount Comedy. She has also performed in several sketches on the show Corto y Cambio in 2013 and 2014. She has collaborated with Radio Vallekas and has been a guest on various television programmes on Canal 7, Onda 6 and Antena 3.

Likewise, she has regularly contributed to the programmes Hoy por hoy Madrid on Cadena SER and Mentes peligrosas on Libertad FM. In addition, she has toured Spain and Mexico for two years with El manicomio de los horrores.
