Intervenció artística Vesica Piscis

The intervention by the artist Fernando Prats in the Romanesque art galleries consists of a set of works that propose subtle parallels between apparently distant eras.

With the complicity of gravity or the beating of birds' wings, the artist traces the registers of universal movement.

Assuming this complexity, he weaves a web of landscapes that evoke the experience of the passage of time and the rhythms of nature, making the hidden geometries in Romanesque art visible.

The contemplation of these traces reveals a timeless connection in the themes despite conceptual differences between eras.

In this project, curated by Glòria Moure, Fernando Prats establishes, through the Romanesque art galleries, a line, an itinerary that intertwines with alternative landscapes, uniting the different parts of the exhibition into a whole.

Throughout this itinerary, the artist explores the concept of representation with nature as an artistic subject through works of pictorial register that develop the notion of landscape, as well as timeless creations that reclaim the vision of painting as a stratified, deep and skillful sedimentation of the contradictions inherent in human experience.

The work of Fernando Prats (Santiago, Chile, 1967) consists of pictorial actions, performances, intersections with science and interventions in the landscape. He studied at the Escola Massana in Barcelona and later at the universities of Chile and Barcelona.

His work is known for the actions and expeditions he has carried out mostly in Chile.

Among these stand out Gran Sur (2011), Acción Lota, Acción Géiser del Tatio, Acción Salar de Atacama, Acción Mina a Rajo Abierto (all from 2006) and Congelación, carried out on the Collins glacier in the Chilean Antarctic (2002).
