CentroCentro presents an exhibition dedicated to the pictorial and drawing trajectory of the artist María Lara.

The fifth-floor rooms of this cultural centre located in Madrid host a selection of around forty creations reviewing the last twenty-five years of the author's work. The exhibition brings together paintings and drawings characterised by a rigorous formal investigation focused on the intrinsic qualities of pictorial matter, dispensing with narrative or figurative elements.

The exhibition tour displays pieces constructed from the observation of lighting variations in the studio, where colour and structures of vertical or horizontal stripes configure the central axis of the proposal. This selection is aimed at contemporary art enthusiasts and those who follow the evolution of creators with trajectories less common in usual commercial circuits. The curator has arranged the works to facilitate a leisurely observation of the chromatic fields and visual rhythms that define this female painter's recent production.
