Little Shop of Horrors

Teatro Sanpol hosts performances of the theatrical adaptation of Alan Menken's famous musical, Little Shop of Horrors, every Friday and Saturday from 25 September to 31 October. This show arrives at this venue for the first time courtesy of the Asociación ALMA Produce, which is tackling its first major production with it.

The story unfolds in a run-down flower shop in the Skid Row neighbourhood, where Seymour and Audrey work under the orders of Mr Mushnik. The appearance of a mysterious plant helps to attract custom, fame and prosperity to the business, although Audrey II hides a difficult-to-satisfy appetite and increasingly dangerous plans.

Featuring music by Alan Menken, composer of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, the show combines comedy, romance, science fiction and dark humour to address ambition and the price one is willing to pay to achieve one's dreams. The staging holds an official licence for amateur productions from Music Theatre International and brings together a large artistic and technical team in a polished scenic proposal of great visual impact.
