The American band Mercury Rev, formed in 1989 in Buffalo, performs on the Madrid stage during this stop in Madrid with a repertoire focused on their album All Is Dream, released in 2001. Throughout their career, the group has been characterised by combining psychedelic pop, sound experimentation, and expansive orchestrations, incorporating influences from genres such as jazz, folk, funk, and progressive rock. Their discography includes references such as their debut Yerself Is Steam from 1991, the well-known Deserter’s Songs from 1998, and more recent works like Born Horses from 2024.
Live, the formation offers a journey through the songs of their most celebrated era, including compositions from their 2001 record. The opening act of the concert will be provided by singer-songwriter Sandy Bell, who performs alongside Jeff Lipstein in a duo format to present compositions influenced by artists such as Kate Bush and Joanna Newsom.
