Otto Cavalcanti

Anthological exhibition dedicated to the Spanish-Brazilian artist Otto Cavalcanti, a prominent figure with close ties to Barcelona.

The display presents a journey through his creative universe, characterised by colour, expressive strength and the development of his own concept of « Visual Form Combinism ».

Cavalcanti’s work integrates influences from modernism, cubism, surrealism and geometric abstraction, with an iconography often focused on the human figure, music, nature and his Brazilian roots.

His work is based on the dialogue between rigorous geometric forms and freer organic strokes, generating dynamic compositions and complex visual narratives.

Through this exhibition, an extensive artistic career is highlighted that connects popular culture, technology and emotional expression, as well as his contribution to muralism, with notable interventions such as the one at the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona.
