Rodrigo y Gabriela

Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela perform in Barcelona to present their instrumental repertoire.

Rodrigo y Gabriela is a guitar duo originally from Mexico, founded in the year 2000. The project specialises in styles such as flamenco rumba, combining acoustic music elements with influences from rock and instrumental heavy metal. Their recording career began with the release of their first album, Foc, issued in 2001 by the ATO Records label, which has been followed by numerous studio works and live recordings captured over the years across various international tours.

Live, the duo perform their repertoire on stage using only two acoustic guitars, without a backing band or vocals, basing the performance on percussion upon the bodies of the instruments and on execution speed. This instrumental proposition is well-suited for fans of virtuoso guitar and acoustic rock who attend medium-format concert venues to listen to live music.

The performance takes place at La 2, a venue located in Barcelona that regularly hosts concerts and shows of diverse musical styles. Attending audiences find a space geared towards live music in this venue, with a layout that allows them to closely follow the artists' technical interpretation during the development of the repertoire scheduled for this stop in Barcelona.
