Lawyer Marinetti is a relentless and bitter woman who has reported almost the entire neighbourhood. Her life changes the day Omar, a refugee boy, falls from a branch of her walnut tree.

The boy completely transforms her life and, in order to keep him, she claims that he is a walnut and that, according to an ancient law, all the fruit that falls in her garden belongs to her. The incredulous judge and prosecutor listen to the witnesses.

Meanwhile, Omar remembers how he had to flee a country at war and how he lost his parents at sea, with the hope of having a chance in life.
