Teatro en la Berlanga 2026

The Fundación SGAE inaugurates its autumn performing arts season at Sala Berlanga with a new edition of Teatro en la Berlanga, running on 6, 7 and 27 October and 3 and 10 November. This annual event brings together contemporary playwrights and this year revolves around the thirtieth anniversary of the SGAE Cycle of Play Readings, featuring three winning works from the 2025 SGAE Playwriting Awards and texts developed during the 13th Playwriting Lab 2025 of the Fundación SGAE

Highlights of the programme include the premiere of Tu hija, written by Victoria Szpunberg, winner of the 2026 Max Award for Best Playwriting alongside Albert Pijuán. After each reading, the audience will have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session with the playwrights and the artistic team, moderated by journalists Paloma Cortina and Daniel Galindo (RNE). In addition, published copies of these works will be available to purchase at Sala Berlanga.

Tomás Cabané, playwright and stage director, directs the on-stage reading of excerpts from the texts worked on: El volador de hojas blancas by Blanca Doménech; Los prescindibles. Profecía científica para un planeta en llamas by Itxaso Larrinaga, Mi proceso lento de amarte by Guadalupe Sáez, Yo soy María by Nani de Julián, Los espectAdores by Ion Iraizoz, and El síndrome del norte by Markos Goikolea Unzalu.
