The Notwist

German band The Notwist are performing in Barcelona as part of their tour, presenting their repertoire live.

The Notwist is a German independent pop band founded in 1989 in Weilheim in Oberbayern. Their recording career began in 1990 with the release of their self-titled debut album through the Sub Pop label, laying the foundations for a distinct sound that combines elements of alternative rock and electronica. Among their key members is Markus Acher, whose compositional and instrumental work has defined the group's musical identity throughout decades of activity and their successive studio albums.

On stage, The Notwist offer a live performance where acoustic instruments and synthesizers intertwine, delivering an instrumental and vocal interpretation faithful to their discography. The regular lineup brings the nuances of their songs to the stage through precise instrumentation and a restrained staging, focusing on musical execution without unnecessary visual artifice.

This performance at Sala 2 Oriol Martorell in Barcelona is aimed at audiences interested in the more experimental aspects of independent pop and organically rooted electronica. The venue offers careful acoustics to follow the development of a repertoire that transitions between melodic passages and denser electronic textures, with a layout that facilitates attentive listening from any point in the venue.
