Tornar a la plaça

Artist Maria Jaume evokes the spirit of popular festivals and community life in a musical session at Plaça Coromines, where she will share a taste of her new repertoire in an intimate format that fuses contemporary pop, electronics and traditional Majorcan folk.

To close the opening day of the Thought Biennial, singer Maria Jaume offers us a taste of her last two works, a vindication of the roots and landscapes of her native Majorca, today profoundly transformed by the effects of overtourism.

In Santo Domingo Forever (2026), Jaume transports us to the streets and squares of her village to defend culture and public space as places of encounter, memory and community building.

In Nostàlgia Airlines (2024), the so-called atmospheric Balearic sound merges with ironic and critical lyrics in the face of the impact of mass tourism on the island, and the need to reclaim one's own spaces.
