Turismo Rural

Sergi Belbel (1996 National Dramatic Literature Award) directs a comedy of errors written by Jordi Galcerán (El método Grönholm or El crédito) that satirises classic B-grade horror films, running from Wednesday to Sunday between 9 October and 27 December at the Teatro Príncipe Gran Vía.

A married couple arrive in the dead of night at a rural tourism house, ready to enjoy a romantic weekend and, above all, to take an important step in their lives: they have decided to become parents and have chosen these seemingly idyllic days to try to conceive their future child. The bucolic setting, the isolation and the peace and quiet of the countryside appear to offer the perfect backdrop to fulfil their purpose.

However, the getaway soon takes a complicated turn. The hosts of the house turn out to be not quite as welcoming as the couple had hoped, and from the moment they arrive, what was meant to be an intimate and pleasant weekend turns into a succession of unexpected situations. The couple find themselves dragged into a spiral of events where appearances, humour and bewilderment blend together, turning their plans completely upside down.

The show is performed by actors Mamen García, Valeria Ros, Carlos Chamarro, Paco Déniz and Lucas Miramón.
