About — The artist
Angèle, mononym of Angèle Van Laeken, born on 3 December 1995 in Uccle (Brussels-Capital), is a Belgian French-language singer-songwriter, musician, producer, actress and model.
Her debut album, Brol, released in October 2018, sold more than 500,000 copies in the first eleven months after release, earning her the top spot in French album sales for 2019. In 2021 she released her second album, Nonante-cinq, which was a commercial and critical success.
In 2020, she won the Victoire for best musical show, tour or concert for her Brol Tour. In 2022, she won the NRJ Music Award for French-speaking female artist of the year. The following year, she received the trophy for female artist of the year and most-streamed album of the year at the Victoires de la Musique.
In 2024, she made a notable appearance at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, performing the track "Nightcall" alongside the band Phoenix and Kavinsky.
