Muse (pronounced in English: [mjuːz]) is a British rock band, from Teignmouth, Devon, England. Emerging on the music scene in 1994, the trio is made up of Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar, piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass, harmonica, vocals, backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums, percussion).
Muse have released ten studio albums since their debut: Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes and Revelations (2006), The Resistance (2009), The 2nd Law (2012), an album that reached number one in several countries such as the United Kingdom and France, Drones (2015), Simulation Theory (2018), Will of the People (2022) and The Wow! Signal (2026). They have also released several live DVDs: Hullabaloo (2002), Absolution Tour (2005), HAARP (2008), Live at Rome Olympic Stadium (2013), Drones (2018), Simulation Theory (2020)
For the 2012 London Olympic Games, the band was invited to compose the event's official anthem (the song Survival); they also made an appearance at the closing ceremony of the same Games. As of 2026, the British band has sold nearly 30 million albums worldwide. Regularly honoured with awards, they have notably won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2011, 2016 and 2022.
