About — The artist
Olivia Rodrigo, born on 20 February 2003 in Murrieta, California, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and actress.
As an actress, she became known for the role of Paige Olvera in the sitcom Frankie et Paige, then for that of Nini Salazar-Roberts in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, the first series in the High School Musical franchise.
After signing with Interscope and Geffen Records, she released her debut single, Drivers License, in 2021, which was a huge success in several countries including the United States and broke several streaming records upon release. Her debut studio album, Sour, was released on 21 May 2021. It broke the record for the most-streamed album in a week by a female artist on the Spotify streaming platform and became, in 2024, the platform's most-streamed album by a female artist, with more than 12 billion streams.
Her next two albums, Guts (2023) and You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love (2026), each also contain a number-one single in the United States (Vampire and Drop Dead), making her the first artist to have the lead singles of her first three albums all reach number one in sales.
Over the course of her career, she has received three Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards and a Brit Award. She was also named "Artist of the Year" by the American magazine Time in 2021, and "Woman of the Year" by the music magazine Billboard in 2022.
