About — The artist
Suffocation is an American death metal band, originally from Centereach, Long Island, New York. Formed in 1988, it is one of the first bands, if not the very first, to play brutal death metal. Singer Frank Mullen is also credited with being the first to popularise the low, guttural vocals that now characterise the genre.
