Choco-Story Torino

A route devoted to the history of cacao and the production of chocolate, with more than 700 objects from the Maya civilisation to 1900 and a look at the origins of gianduia, in Turin.

The exhibition traces the history of cacao from the Maya civilisation up to 1900, through a collection of more than 700 objects. Visitors follow the stages of the route and discover how chocolate comes to be made today, observing the various steps of its processing in all their aspects.

Along the route there are animations and interactive games, including a section devoted to the origins of gianduia, the sweet that links Turin to this tradition. During the visit, visitors can taste different varieties of chocolate, a tangible way of connecting what is on display with the history of the product.

The programme is designed for all ages and is aimed at both children and adults. The route takes place at Choco-Story Torino, where the works and displays guide visitors through the different stages of the history of chocolate.
