About — The artist
Florian Ruiz-Picasso, born February 21, 1990, is a French DJ and producer based in Cannes. Through adoption, he is a great-grandson of the artist Pablo Picasso. He came to prominence through collaborations with Martin Garrix, Nicky Romero, and Steve Aoki. In 2016, he was ranked 38th by DJ Mag in its annual Top 100 DJs list.
Since 2024, Picasso has been moving toward a more underground and independent musical direction. In 2025, he launched his own label, DKD Records, with the EP Hi Heels, which introduces a harder, groove-oriented techno sound. He also started Dekadance, conceived as a creative movement and a platform for genre-blending electronic music.
In 2025, following the release of his EP Hi Heels on DKD Records, Picasso released his second major project of the year, the single “When I Saw U,” designed to evoke a feeling of pure happiness and emotional uplift, seeking to capture the instant, euphoric sensation of connection when someone walks into a room.
