Overview
The US indie rock band DIIV comes to Berlin with its fifth album, ZIRP! The concert takes place at Huxleys Neue Welt, a venue for concerts and performances in the city.
DIIV is an indie rock band from the United States, formed in New York in 2011. It became known with its debut album Oshin, released in 2012 on the label Captured Tracks. The band consists of Zachary Cole Smith, Andrew Bailey, Colin Caulfield and Ben Newman.
On their fifth album, ZIRP!, the band combines its underground roots with a strong feel for pop. It was produced by the British producer A. G. Cook, who has worked with Caroline Polachek and Charli XCX, among others. The title refers to the zero-interest-rate policy, and the songs revolve around growing up, social decline and the routines of streaming.
Huxleys Neue Welt presents concerts and performances in Berlin, and this evening's programme moves between pop, rock and indie. Anyone who knows the band only from records can hear the band's new songs from the album performed live here.
