B.O.B.A.S. (Banda Orquestral Benèfica d'Actes Sepulcrals)

A clown trio plays the musicians of a funeral band who, when the priest and the deceased are delayed, turn the wait for a burial into an outdoor comedy of accidents.

Banda Orquestral Benèfica d'Actes Sepulcrals is a humble brass band that usually accompanies funeral ceremonies. In this show, the priest and the deceased do not arrive on time, and the three musicians must sustain an awkward wait in front of the family and friends. The solemn occasion gradually goes askew through a succession of comic mishaps.

On stage, the trio makes use of a trumpet, a baritone horn, a snare drum and cymbals. The register is that of classic clown, though with a contemporary outlook, and the humour springs from very basic things. The show is performed on the ground, outdoors, without the need for electricity, and it can also be given in the rain.

The cast comprises Lisa Madsen, Laia Sales and Jimena Cavallett. It is a show aimed at children that is programmed at the Cotonera Igualadina, in Igualada, a venue that hosts shows in the town.
