Kawaguchi, piano Collard & Collard, late Clementi, London 1847 On 9 October, the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona and the Associació Muzio Clementi de Barcelona present an afternoon dedicated to the evolution of the piano and its role in the major aesthetic shifts that led from Classicism to Romanticism.

At 18:00, Joan Josep Gutiérrez will give the lecture The piano, the instrument of revolutions, a reflection on the technical, artistic and social transformation of an instrument that became one of the main protagonists of European musical life.

The day will continue at 19:30 with the concert Con Spirito: Clementi and the transition to romanticism, performed by pianist N. Kawaguchi on an exceptional Collard & Collard, late Clementi (London, 1847).

The programme includes works by Muzio Clementi, Franz Schubert and Santiago de Masarnau, composers who help us understand the evolution of the piano language at a key moment in music history.

This event combines outreach and historically informed performance, offering the audience a unique experience centred around European piano heritage.
