Al final de las cosas

Noemi Rodríguez writes and directs a play that explores the vertigo of change, the fear of loss and the need to move forward when it is no longer possible to remain still. A production that can be seen from 9 October to 15 November, from Tuesday to Sunday, in the Sala de la Princesa at the Teatro María Guerrero.

The piece follows a couple who, faced with a critical moment, decide to risk everything they know to escape the various forms of resignation, fear and sacrifice that threaten to consume them. What begins looking like a midsummer night's tale turns into an impossible promise to keep and the collapse of a way of life.

Far from settling into tragedy, the show turns that collapse into a territory of possibilities. In that fragile and uncertain space, where the past no longer offers answers and the future does not yet exist, a story emerges that celebrates the courage of those who defy inertia and dare to reinvent themselves. Indeed, it is presented as a love letter to disappearing bonds, but also to those who are capable of rebuilding themselves from their own ruins.

Using an irreverent theatrical language full of humour, it proposes an emotional journey in which the fall does not merely represent a defeat, but also an opportunity to rise and discover new ways of existing. A perspective that steers clear of grand heroic gestures to focus instead on human fragility.

Noemi Rodríguez also stars in the production alongside Alejandro Jato, inviting the audience to linger on that threshold where everything is changing. A place from which to observe transformations, say goodbye to the versions of oneself left behind and accept that, sometimes, the end of things is also the beginning of others.
