Balls i tapes is a programme of dances and music from different parts of the world, accompanied by international tapas, held on the Esplanada del Mercat. The Mercat de Provençals hosts concerts and shows in Barcelona, and this programme takes over its esplanade with a dual focus on dance and gastronomy.
The line-up combines performances by local organisations and groups with musical sessions. Taking part are Club Esportiu Ippon, Amigos de la Tunantada, the line dancing group of CdB Verneda and Espai Jove La Verneda, which is staging a musical bingo. The music is provided by Sentimiento Cimarrón and DJ Didi San, alongside HRA Santo Ángel.
Cova da Serpe, the Centro Cultural Comarca de Estepa and the association Catalano Uruguaia Los Botijas also join the programme. The food area brings together tapas from different countries and Rioplatense-style asado.
