The artists Enric Monfort and José Antonio Portillo are performing an object and visual theatre installation on 10 and 11 October at the Teatro Valle-Inclán, creating an immersive experience that invites audiences to discover that the world can also be understood through listening, turning the most everyday sounds into the guiding thread of an artistic, sensory and emotional journey.

What sound does a stone make? And a coffee maker, some strings or a cash register? The production starts from these questions to build a space where listening becomes the true protagonist. Halfway between music and the performing arts, the work delves into a unique octagonal wooden library, conceived as a living organism in which each object occupies its place and possesses its own voice.

In this sound universe, every noise, timbre or vibration is heard, collected, transformed and classified. The library functions as a constantly active brain, capable of connecting sounds with emotions, memories with dialogues and experiences with memory. The result is an installation that brings the spectator closer both to the physical reality of sound and to its most intimate and evocative dimension.

The space is inhabited by a character obsessed with sounds who for years has gathered apparently ordinary or even useless objects: stones, flowerpots, strings, coffee makers or cash registers that take on a new life by revealing the unique timbre they conceal. The sum of these voices creates harmonies and compositions that transport the audience to an emotional landscape where any everyday element can mutate into an instrument and where the shared experience ends up forming part of the collective memory.

Behind this proposal are José Antonio Portillo and Enric Monfort, two creators who meet again after the former was the latter's teacher during his childhood. After following independent artistic paths during
