Europa ilustra

The fourth edition of Europa Ilustra opens its doors from 3 June to 18 October at Casa del Lector in Matadero Madrid with a selection of works by eleven male and female illustrators from various European countries.

Organised by the network of European cultural institutes EUNIC Madrid in collaboration with Casa del Lector, the exhibition offers a visual journey through styles, techniques and narratives that reflect the creative wealth of the current European art scene.

The exhibition brings together works from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden and Wallonia-Brussels, offering a diverse perspective where fantasy, visual poetry, graphic experimentation and reflection on identity, memory or nature coexist.

The opening is attended by the Austrian Anna Horak, the Finn Miila Westin, the French Pauline Barzilaï and the French-speaking Belgian Gaya Wisniewski. Europa Ilustra champions illustration as an artistic language capable of building bridges between cultures and sensibilities, as part of EUNIC Madrid's commitment to an open, diverse European culture in dialogue with contemporary society.
