Overview
Fundación Casa de México en España presents from 29 September to 24 January 2027 an exhibition that pays tribute to one of the least studied episodes in the history of 20th-century Mexican art, the Museo Dinámico, through more than 56 works from the Isabel and Agustín Coppel Collection.
The exhibition, curated by Magnolia de la Garza, takes its name from a phrase by the artist Mira Landau, who in an interview about the Museo Dinámico said: It was daytime, it was afternoon, it was fantastic. Visitors will be able to see a selection of 56 works produced using various techniques by 46 artists, mostly Mexican or foreign artists based in the country.
The exhibition includes works by the following artists: Abraham Cruzvillegas, Alberto Gironella, Anri Sala, Antoni Tápies, Bas Jan Ader, Carlos Amorales, Daniela Rosell, Dayanita Singh, Dominique González-Foerster, Enrique Guzmán, Fernando García Ponce, Fernando Ortega, Félix González-Torres, Francis Alÿs, Francisco Ugarte, Gabriel Orozco, Gordon Matta Clark, Guillermo Kuitca, Haris Epaminonda, Helen Frankenthaler, Jack Goldstein, James Lee Byars, Jorge Eduardo Eielson, Jorge Méndez Blake, Joseph Cornell, Julio Galán, Laura Lima, Lawrence Weiner, Leonor Antunes, Lilia Carrillo, Liliana Porter, Manuel Felguerez, Maria Luisa Pacheco, Mario García-Torres, Marta Minujín, Miguel Calderón, Nestor Quiñones, Oscar Murillo, Pedro Coronel, Sarah Grilo, Tunga, Ulises Carrión, Valie Export, Vicente Rojo, Vivian Suter and Zao Wou-Ki.
El Museo Dinámico (1962-1967) was a project promoted by the architect Manuel Larrosa and Miguel Salas Anzures that transcended the traditional idea of a museum to become a space for encounter, experimentation and artistic collaboration.
