Overview

Infrarealism emerged in Mexico in the mid-1970s as a radical poetic movement that confronted the dominant literary culture.

In Manifiesto Infrarrealista (1976), Mario Santiago Papasquiaro denounces the state of art in the country and proposes a new conception of poetry based on the fusion of life and art.

This exhibition brings together nearly 200 pieces, including letters, poems, books, posters and magazines, which trace a journey through a movement whose best-known figure is undoubtedly Roberto Bolaño, but which included a large number of young poets inspired by European and Latin American avant-gardes.
