Juegos de jardín

From 16 September to 10 January 2027, the Real Jardín Botánico hosts a photographic exhibition by the artist Sergio de Luz in the Cátedra Cavanilles room, proposing an open game between what we see and what we imagine, where each gaze can build a different interpretation.

This exhibition project, entitled Juegos de jardín, explores pareidolia—understood as the ability to recognise shapes or figures in images and structures that do not explicitly represent them—as a meeting point between nature, photography and perception. The artist Sergio de Luz transfers this research, which began in urban spaces, to the plant environment, inviting the public to discover faces, figures and other suggested forms among the plants and structures of the Real Jardín Botánico.

In this way, the Garden becomes a territory of discovery in which the diversity of perceptions takes on a central role, and where nature and photography come together to champion the plurality of ways of observing, interpreting and giving meaning to the world.
