Overview
For obvious reasons, double bass player Kyle Eastwood's career has been closely linked to cinema, combining the composition of film soundtracks for his father, Clint Eastwood (such as Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby and Letters From Iwo Jima), with his own career as a jazz musician, most notably at the head of his quintet. Eastwood by Eastwood is the show that summarises this dual aspect of Kyle Eastwood's artistic life: the fusion of jazz-informed interpretations of legendary soundtracks associated with his father – by composers such as Ennio Morricone, Lennie Niehaus, Lalo Schifrin and John Williams – and original music created by Kyle to be played with his quintet.
