La Colònia del So

A concert with orchestra and choir performing the best-known songs of the Catalan group Esquirols, linked by an original story inspired by their songs and characters.

This is a tribute to Esquirols, a Catalan music group formed in l'Esquirol, in the heart of the Collsacabra (Osona). They were active from 1969, at a time when singing in Catalan was a challenge, and disbanded in 1986. The songs are by Esquirols, but in this show they are performed by La Colònia del So.

The Catalan song scene was then going through a period of effervescence, with numerous groups and soloists emerging, while the political and social situation opened up new expectations for the future. The programme weaves these songs together with an original narrative inspired by their characters and by the group's repertoire.

On stage, the show combines orchestra and choir with the music and the story. The event takes place at the Pavelló Municipal de Puig-reig, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the town.
