Leyendo el tiempo

In "Leyendo el tiempo", Eduardo Query takes collage as a language to construct a painting made of fragments, overlays, textures, transparencies and gestures.

His works propose a leisurely gaze, in which each element seems to contain a small story and each layer speaks of what has been, of what remains and of what is about to disappear.

His work is characterised by an essential and refined aesthetic, yet at the same time rich in matter and subtleties. Planes of colour, textures, graphics and remnants of paint dialogue in compositions where the void has as much importance as what appears within it.

The result is delicate and evocative images, halfway between memory, dream and reality. In this new series, time becomes just another material of painting.

Query does not represent it literally: he fragments it, accumulates it, transforms it and makes it visible through the traces it leaves on the surface.
