The Museo de Cera in Madrid, on Plaza de Colón, brings together more than 450 figures of historical and famous personalities, from figures of the Roman Empire to stars of today's pop culture.
The museum recreates scenes and settings from major events and periods in the history of Spain and the world, so that visitors can stand alongside some of their protagonists. Among the figures featured in the proposal are the power of the Roman Empire, the Catholic Monarchs, the explorer Christopher Columbus, the current Spanish royal family and the heroes of the Star Wars saga.
The route also includes a miniature bullring and figures of contemporary personalities, such as representatives of international politics and sport. It is designed for a broad audience, with a leisurely visiting format in which the viewer approaches each scene to observe it up close.
The exhibition is permanent and occupies a space on Plaza de Colón, in the centre of Madrid.
