Nada espontáneo. Una mirada a los 90

The exhibition Nada espontáneo. Una mirada a los 90 brings together in Madrid a selection of photographic portraits focused on the musical and cinematic culture of that decade.

Casa del Lector, a cultural space located in the Matadero complex, hosts this visual journey focusing on the archive of photographer Jesús Ugalde. The galleries bring together snapshots captured during the 1990s, a period when the author worked for record labels and in the field of cinema. The itinerary shows visitors portraits of performers, composers and directors during working sessions and recording moments, highlighting the presence of figures such as Alejandro Sanz, Los Rodríguez, La Oreja de Van Gogh, Rosana, Christina Rosenvinge, Antonio Banderas, Carmen Maura and Pedro Almodóvar.

The exhibition proposes a reflection on artificiality and the design of the pose in the imagery of that era. The visit is aimed at photography fans, followers of national music and curious individuals interested in the visual culture of the late 20th century. Through this journey along the walls of the gallery, the public gains access to both images disseminated in their day and unpublished graphic material that remained in the author's archive until this exhibition.
