Uneasy Riders. La ciudad en ruta

The Museo Nacional de Antropología is hosting a photographic exhibition from 10 July to 25 October that invites the public to discover the daily lives of delivery drivers from their own perspective and through their own images.

The exhibition is curated by Montserrat Cañedo Rodríguez (UNED) and Diego Allen-Perkins (USC), and is produced in collaboration with the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia and the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela.

Every day, thousands of riders travel across the city, becoming a familiar part of the urban landscape. To understand how mobile applications and digital platforms are transforming work and daily life, a team of anthropologists has carried out research alongside a group of delivery workers. The core of the exhibition consists of images captured by Adrián, Carlos, Gledis, Juan and Fernando, who photographed the most important aspects of their working routine.

The exhibition tour is divided into three main themes. The first analyses the logic of delivery, where workers must balance the commands of the algorithm with their own improvisation. The second shows the network of affection and support that arises between people and technology. Finally, the exhibition highlights the role of the delivery worker as an observer who documents the memories and aesthetics of the city.
