About — The artist
Manowar is an American heavy metal and power metal band formed in Auburn, New York, in 1980. The themes of its lyrics are inspired by epic poetry, battles, sorcery and mythology, especially Norse, Roman and Greek.
In 1984 they surpassed the Guinness record of 126 dB, set by The Who in 1976, for the musical group with the most powerful sound. They later surpassed it again on two occasions. In 2008 they gave the longest heavy metal concert in history, in Bulgaria, which lasted five hours and ten minutes.
